Monkey Off Our Backs: “After a much needed break to regroup, our team went into Martinsville hoping for a strong finish to carry some momentum into the final stretch of the year. Finishing in the top 10 in Martinsville really helped our team realize we have put together a strong program. And one of the best parts is that both of HT Motorsports trucks were in one piece. That is a big relief to Jim (Harris, owner) and our team to not have to worry about fixing a bunch of damage that happens at the short tracks, especially since we will take that same truck to Phoenix in a few weeks. Now that we hopefully have this monkey off our backs, we can move forward.”
Superspeedways: “We only do two superspeedway races each year. This is the time where you tighten those belts and never lift. We go wide open, three-wide, four-wide, on the top, in the middle or on the apron. One lap you can be leading and then very next lap you can be in 25th position. This is wild stock car racing at its finest. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series hasn’t been to Talladega Superspeedway that many times, but this was a great addition to our schedule when NASCAR added it. It really gives the fans some excitement watching these trucks on this track. The cup cars move through the air so smoothly, but our trucks are like a box parting the air. It just means for a bouncier ride for us drivers and a better show for the fans.”
