Terry Cook No. 25 Cajun Industries/Harris Trucking Toyota Tundra Race Report
Lucas Oil 200, Iowa Speedway
Newton, IA (September 6, 2009) – Terry Cook drove the No. 25 Cajun Industries/Harris Trucking Toyota Tundra to an eleventh-place finish in the inaugural Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway.
Cook started from the tenth position and spent the early stages of the race logging laps just outside the top ten. Crew chief Danny Rollins made the call to take two tires on the last round of pit stops to gain track position and the gamble paid off as Cook raced as high as sixth after the stop. But a long green flag run continually wore the left side tires and Cook spent the rest of the night battling a tight condition making it difficult to race for position.
“After the way we started off the weekend, we’ll take eleventh,” Cook said. “We made a lot of gains from where we were during practice yesterday and I actually thought we have a good shot at a top ten finish here. But we just got really tight whenever we were in traffic. I couldn’t get up behind anyone and get a run on him because we lost the nose and pushed up the track. It was really bad in turns three and four. But it was a good points night for us, we gain points on just about everyone we’re battling in the standings.”
Cook maintains the tenth position in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings, just eleven points behind ninth place Timothy Peters and 18 points behind eighth place Rick Crawford.
The next race for Cook and the No. 24 Cajun Industries/Harris Trucking Toyota Tundra is the Copart 200 at Gateway International Raceway, scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Eastern on Saturday September 12.
